Lilburn postpones Christmas Parade due to weather

Due to the severe inclement weather forecasted for Saturday morning, the City of Lilburn has postponed its annual Christmas Parade. Benefiting the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, Athens-Clarke County Transit will host their annual "Stuff-a-Bus" event during December 10-14. A bus, decked-out for the holidays, will be staged all day at several different locations during the week for people to donate non-perishable food items and help give Athens area families a holiday to remember. Each visit earns a chance to win "Stuff-a-Bus" door prizes. The City of Lilburn Tree Lighting will take place on Nov. 17 in front of Lilburn City Hall-Library at 340 Main Street. The event begins at 6 p.m. and includes holiday music by the Lilburn Middle School Chorus, the Georgia Brass Band, and the Lilburn First Baptist Proclamation Handbell Ensemble.
