Two Chattanooga 18-year-olds charged in homicide of Georgia 19-year-old

On Friday, September, 24, 2021, the GBI and Fort Oglethorpe Police arrested and charged 18-year-olds Keishun Rowe and Malachi Housley, both of Chattanooga, with Felony Murder, in connection to the death of 19-year-old Jaylon Alexander Everhardt of Fort Oglethorpe. Fort Oglethorpe Police found Everhardt dead at the 900 building of the Oglethorpe Ridge Apartments from apparent gunshot wounds Thursday night. Everhardt's body was transported to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

A Gwinnett County water department employee was killed Thursday during a hit and run incident while he was directing traffic, Gwinnett County police officials say. The crash occurred at at Oak Grove Road and Henderson Lake Drive. Constantin George Bolof, a Gwinnett County Water Resource employee and Auburn resident, was directing vehicles around an active construction site when he was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by Thomas Allen Burke. COOPERSVILLE -- On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, the GBI arrested 45-year-old Charles Michael Librizzi, of Baxley, Georgia, for one count of Malice Murder. Librizzi is currently in the Screven County Jail. According to the GBI, first responders found 35-year-old Kathern Rebecca Scott, of Reidsville, North Carolina, dead at the Holiday Motel on Statesboro Highway in Coopersville at about 11:11 p.m. Monday. Six people were arrested and one molestation victim was identified by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, during a coordinated effort between the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit, and the GBI’s Special Enforcement Team. SMYRNA -- A standoff between police and a 27-year-old man at an apartment complex in Smyrna ended when police shot and killed the man. A hostage situation at a Smyrna apartment complex ended Monday after police shot the suspect.  According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, preliminary information indicates that at about 9:45 a.m., Cobb County Police officers responded to Concord Crossing Apartments on Old Concord Road in Smyrna in reference to a 911 call of shots fired. A shooting at a nearby apartment complex caused Kennesaw State University to go on lockdown while police searched for suspects. The school has been given the all clear from police.
