DUNWOODY -- The new access ramp from I-285 eastbound to Ashford Dunwoody Road at Exit 29 is set to open Sunday by 9 a.m. The new ramp means motorists on I-285 eastbound who want to exit at Ashford Dunwoody Road will need to merge on to the new ramp just past Glenridge Drive. If you miss the exit, you’ll have to continue to the Chamblee Dunwoody Road exit at Exit 30 and circle back to Ashford Dunwoody Road on I-285 westbound. Two transportation projects designed to improve traffic flow in the Perimeter Market near I-285 were recently completed, according to the Central DeKalb Perimeter Improvement District. In February, the PCID Board approved $268,400 in funding for the projects, located in Dunwoody and Brookhaven. The Georgia Department of Transportation unveiled a proposal Wednesday to improve the capacity of planned toll lanes along Interstate 285 by asking the private sector to play a larger role in the $6.1 billion project. The plan would add two barrier-separated toll lanes along 285 just north of its interchanges with I-20 east and west of Atlanta instead of the single lane envisioned when the project was first proposed in 2016. Overturned tanker truck at Spaghetti Junction shuts down traffic

An overturned tanker truck on I-85 South near Spaghetti junction has blocked all lanes in I-85 an I-285 in DeKalb County. All Southbound traffic is being diverted off onto Interstate I-285 East or Westbound.   The ramps are blocked to Interstate 85 Southbound from I-285. The Georgia Department of Transportation is advising motorists to avoid the Spaghetti Junction area if at all possible. You can use Buford Highway or Peachtree Industrial to avoid extreme delays.
