An 85-year-old Ball Ground man died in a crash when the man’s Kia and a semi-truck on Matt Highway in Forsyth County.
The crash occurred at about 8:38 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection Matt Highway and Old Federal Road.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, a 2012 Kia Soul and was traveling south on Old Federal Road approaching Matt Highway. A 2018 Kenworth semi-truck was traveling westbound on Matt Highway approaching the intersection of Old Federal Road.
According to witnesses, the Kia failed to stop for a stop sign and pulled out in the path of the semi-truck. The Kia was struck on the front driver’s door.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
