An 85-year-old Ball Ground man died in a crash when the man's Kia and a semi-truck on Matt Highway in Forsyth County. The crash occurred at about 8:38 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection Matt Highway and Old Federal Road. According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, a 2012 Kia Soul and was traveling south on Old Federal Road approaching Matt Highway. On August 18, 2021, 43-year-old Joseph Thomas Zanes was reported missing by his sister and mother. They last saw him at the BP gas station located at 901 Buford Highway on August 14, 2021. He is currently homeless and stays in his blue van near the BP. He was last seen by a BP employee on August 15, 2021, however, his van is still there. A burglary ring that police say was responsible for about 200 burglaries and $2.1 million of stolen property has been charged by police in Gwinnett County. The Gwinnett County Police Department Burglary Unit indicted 12 people with a total of 66 felony counts after a two year long investigation. Gwinnett County has had a series of burglaries which have targeted victims of Asian descent dating back to 2019. A 25-year-old Forsyth County man has been charged with killing his own father yesterday after the two got into an argument, police say. Forsyth County deputies responded to a home on Homestead Ridge Drive in reference to a shooting at about 5:50 p.m. According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department, Rajeev Kumaraswamy had gotten into an argument with his father, Sadashivia Kumaraswamy. Body of missing kayaker found in Chattahoochee River

The body of a missing kayaker has been found in the Chattahoochee River. Friends of 41-year-old David Southin said on social media that his body was recovered last night, after he went fishing on the Chattahoochee in a red kayak Monday. The Gwinnett County Fire Swift Water Team located and recovered Southin's body late yesterday afternoon. The body was turned over to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office.
