A 74-year-old Carrollton man lost his life Thursday night when his bass boat collided with another vessel on Lake Wedowee in Alabama.
What Happened: Dale Webb was operating his 1995 Stratos bass boat when it collided with a 2024 Veranda Vista tri-toon boat around 8 p.m. at the junction where Little River meets Big River.
Between The Lines: A 73-year-old passenger in Webb’s boat was airlifted to Wellstar Kennesaw Medical Center with injuries, while the operator of the other boat was unharmed.
The Big Picture: Lake Wedowee, located in Randolph County, Alabama, is a popular destination for Georgia boaters due to its proximity to the state line. Boating accidents often increase during evening hours when visibility decreases on waterways.
The Sources: Alabama Law Enforcement’s Marine Patrol Division.
