Cobb County voters in areas with cityhood initiatives rejected plans to become new cities across the board Tuesday.
Voters in the East Cobb, Vinings, and Lost Mountain areas were presented with yes or no questions asking if the areas they lived in should incorporate and become their own cities.
In each initiative, voters chose not to follow in the footsteps of residents of Fulton and DeKalb Counties who have chosen several times over the years to form new cities, citing local control as the driving force.
In East Cobb, 73% of voters voted against cityhood, the largest denunciation of cityhood out of the three cities on the ballot.
In Lost Mountain, 57% of voters rejected cityhood.
In Vinings, a smaller majority of voters rejected cityhood, with 54% of voters saying no to a new city.
