Drivers in Coweta County will need to find a new route this Halloween weekend as crews close a busy intersection for paving work.
What’s Happening: The Georgia Department of Transportation will close the intersection of US 29 and State Route 14 at State Route 154 starting Friday, October 31 at 9 p.m. through Sunday, November 2 at 10 p.m.
- Crews will pave railroad tracks at the intersection.
- Warning signs will alert drivers before they reach the closed area.
What’s Important: The detour will send drivers onto I-85, adding extra time to trips through the area.
The Detour: Drivers heading north on State Route 14 should turn right on State Route 74 and take I-85 South to Exit 51 at State Route 154. Drivers heading south on State Route 14 should turn left on State Route 34 and take I-85 North to Exit 51 at State Route 154.
What to Know: The work schedule could change if weather causes problems. Drivers can check for updates by calling 511, visiting 511ga.org, or downloading the Georgia 511 app.
