Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation will install lane closures on I-75 between Aikers Mill Road and Howell Mill Road in Fulton County this weekend.
This work is part of a project to perform bridge preservation activities on nine bridge locations along I-75 in the county.
Weather and on-site conditions permitting, these are the scheduled closures on I-75 southbound beginning 11 p.m. on Friday, August 12 until 7 p.m. on Sunday:
- Three right lanes will be closed from Aikers Mill Road to Mount Paran Road, and
- Two right lanes will be closed from Moore’s Mill Road to Howell Mill Road.
These closures will help ensure safety of work crews and drivers as crews perform maintenance and preservation activities to the bridge structure, including co-polymer overlay and joint replacements. This project is scheduled for completion in March 2023.
Message boards will give drivers advance notice of the upcoming closures.
Motorists can expect delays and use alternate routes, exercise caution and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones.
