An 18-year-old is dead after a car crashed into a vehicle he was standing next to in front of a Bibb County residence early Sunday morning.

An 18-year-old is dead after a car crashed into a vehicle he was standing next to in front of a Bibb County residence early Sunday morning.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal collision that occurred in the 4400 block of Knight Road. The collision was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 12:30 a.m.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, a Chevrolet 2500 — driven by 48-year-old Jason Ellis Partin — was traveling north on Knight Road. Partin’s vehicle took a slight curve, crossed over into the opposite lane, and then collided with a Ford F-150 that was parked in front of a residence.

Authorities say 18-year-old Tyler Hart was standing outside of the Ford F-150 and two other men were sitting inside of the vehicle when the collision occurred. The two men who were sitting inside of the Ford F-150 were transported to the Atrium Health Navicent for non-life threatening injuries.

Hart was pronounced dead at the scene.

Partin was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent for treatment of the injuries that he received during the collision. Once released, Partin was taken into custody and was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charge of Vehicular Homicide in the first degree. 

This collision is under investigation. Anyone with information in reference to this fatal collision is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to speak with a fatality investigator.
