Bibb County police investigate armed robbery at CVS

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that took place at 1:52 p.m. Sunday at the CVS at 4080 Bloomfield Drive.   According to Sheriff's officials, a man entered the store brandishing a firearm and demanded money from the clerk. After getting an undisclosed amount of money he fled the store fled on foot. No one was injured during this incident. The man was described as medium build, wearing dark clothes and a black cap. Here are the roads that will be closed for Bibb County’s Labor Day races

On Monday, September 6, roads will be temporarily closed for the Labor Day Road Race. Starting at about 7 a.m. all traffic headed into town on Vineville Avenue will be blocked.  The 5K road race will begin at 7:30 a.m. Traffic going out of town on Vineville Avenue will be diverted at Hines Terrace to facilitate the 5K road race. Police: Burglary ring stole $2.1 million worth of property

A burglary ring that police say was responsible for about 200 burglaries and $2.1 million of stolen property has been charged by police in Gwinnett County. The Gwinnett County Police Department Burglary Unit indicted 12 people with a total of 66 felony counts after a two year long investigation. Gwinnett County has had a series of burglaries which have targeted victims of Asian descent dating back to 2019. Baby alligator rescued from Bibb County business

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office's Animal Enforcement division reports that an officer rescued a baby alligator at a business on Broadway this week. According to Rebecca Galeazzo, the rescuing officer, the baby had been sent away by its mother. “This is a good example of how the mother gator runs out the older babies to make room for new hatchlings. This guy is about two-years-old, and this means there are brand new babies nearby,” she said. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a 69-year-old man inside of a home in the 7500 block of Bethel Church Road, just after 8:30 pm. Friday. According to the Sheriff's office the man was involved in an altercation with another man. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by the coroner’s office. Two dead and two injured after Macon sidewalk fight

Two people are dead and two more injured after a fight broke out on a sidewalk in Macon early Saturday morning. The fight reportedly occurred at the corner of Cherry Street and MLK Boulevard around 12:41 a.m. According to the Macon-Bibb County Sheriff's Office, there was a large fight on the sidewalk that included gunshots. As deputies and emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene, 20-year-old Donovan Munir Cason, of Macon, was found unresponsive. Cason was pronounced dead at the scene. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pedestrian traffic incident that occurred in 2000 block of Old Clinton Road, just before 9:30 p.m. A passerby saw a woman laying in the roadway unresponsive and called police. When deputies arrived, they found 65-year-old Irene Stubbs of Macon had been struck by a vehicle. Stubbs was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office personnel. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that was reported to have occurred in the 200 block of Golden Ocala Boulevard at 11:17 a.m Wednesday. Deputies responded to the residence of a person being shot. As deputies arrived, they found 46-year-old Tyvesha Brown, and her husband, 49-year-old James Brown, unresponsive with gunshot wounds.
