There’s a new coach for the Marietta Blue Devils football team, and he’s no stranger to success. Cameron Duke, a seasoned coach with more than 21 years of experience, is bringing his winning formula to Marietta High School.
The Marietta City School Board made it official Tuesday night, unanimously approving Duke’s appointment.
Coach Duke, his wife Caroline, and their two daughters are joining the Marietta community with high expectations and open arms.
Superintendent Dr. Grant Rivera summed up the excitement. “His extraordinary track record of success, combined with his unwavering focus on developing student-athletes both on and off the field, makes him the perfect fit for Marietta High School and our community,” Rivera said.
Duke’s resume speaks volumes. Coming from Florida’s Edgewater High School, he turned a struggling program into a powerhouse. Since 2016, Edgewater posted an 85-16 record, made eight consecutive playoff appearances, and contended for state championships. The program earned a spot on Florida’s Top 20 Most Dominant Football Programs of the Last Decade, regularly cracking national rankings.
But for Duke, success isn’t just measured in trophies. His 3D Coaching philosophy—focusing on physical, mental, and emotional growth—sets the tone.
“I’m honored to lead this storied program and am committed to fostering excellence both on and off the field. Together, we’ll work to continue the proud legacy of Marietta football,” Duke said.
Duke officially starts next month and will make his community debut at a special event on January 22 at the Marietta Performing Arts Center. The meet-and-greet is scheduled from 7 to 7:45 p.m.
Marietta football fans will have to wait a bit to see the new coach in action, but if his history is any indication, the Blue Devils are in for a bright future.
