Every traditional high school in the Cherokee County School District has been named a 2026 AP Honor School by the state of Georgia.

The designation recognizes outstanding student performance and participation on Advanced Placement exams, which give students access to more challenging coursework and the opportunity to earn college credit.

All six honored

The Cherokee County School District says all six of its traditional high schools earned the recognition, marking another sweep of the state’s top honors for Advanced Placement programs.

Superintendent Mary Elizabeth Davis credited the school board, teachers, and students for the achievement.

“This success is further evidence of our School Board’s commitment to being the highest-performing school district in Georgia,” Davis said. “Congratulations to our students and thank you to our teachers for your unmatched dedication and unparalleled professional expertise.”

Davis said the results reflect a broader push to raise academic achievement across the district.
