Kingsland will host its 42nd annual Catfish Festival on November 21-22, bringing free entertainment, food and activities to the small Georgia town’s historic downtown.
The two-day event typically draws 15,000 people each year to enjoy fried catfish, live music and more than 200 vendor booths. There is no admission fee.
Country music artist Craig Campbell will headline the entertainment, performing songs including “Outta My Head,” “Family Man” and “Keep Them Kisses Comin.'” Bands Str8up and Saltwater Gypseas will also perform throughout the weekend.
The festival will feature a new Friday night street party this year. The town will close downtown streets Friday evening so visitors can browse arts and crafts, eat food and listen to live music.
The Kingsland Lion’s Club will serve fried catfish dinners Friday night and all day Saturday. Meals come with French fries or Cajun grits. The festival will also offer locally caught seafood, Southern food, beer and wine.
A parade will take place Saturday, and a children’s amusement area will be available both days.
The Southeast Tourism Society has named the Kingsland Catfish Festival a “Top 20 Event” four times. The American Bus Association has recognized it as a “Top 100 Event in North America” three times.
Kingsland is located three miles from the Florida state line along Interstate 95 and 25 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida.
