The News: On Friday, the Macon-Bibb 911 Center received a call at 11:08 a.m. from the Truist Bank at 3600 Mercer University Drive in Bibb County, reporting an attempted bank robbery.

The Arrest: Investigtors were notified that the suspect wanted to turn himself in and were given his location. After locating the suspect in a nearby shopping center parking lot, 41-year-old William Jeffery Lowder Jr. was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Sheriffโ€™s Annex for questioning.

Following an interview, Lowder was booked in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and is currently being held without bond for the charge of attempted robbery.

The Crime: According to the Sheriffโ€™s office, Lowder handed a note to a bank employee telling them to give him money from the register. The employee was not behind a working register, and the suspect left the bank without receiving any money.
