MACON — A 3-year-old was shot in Macon Thursday night and is currently in critical condition according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Details of the shooting are scarce, but here is what we know so far.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault incident that was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at about 6:26 p.m.
Authorities say a mother took her 3-year-old child, who was struck by gunfire, to the Piedmont Hospital by person vehicle.
The 3-year-old was then transferred, by ambulance, to the Atrium Health Navicent.
The 3-year-old is listed to be in critical condition.
Investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The sheriff’s office will release information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
