MACON — A 15-year-old boy was shot in the parking lot of Academy Sports in Bibb County.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting incident that happened in the parking lot of Academy Sports at 1689 Eisenhower Parkway. The Macon-Bibb 911 Center was notified at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, a 15-year-old boy, later identify that as Tavias La’zhae Williams, was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Southwest High School.
He was taken to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance where he later died of his injuries.

Investigators are currently investigating what led up to the shooting.
