A man and a woman were found dead from gunshot wounds this afternoon inside a room at a Macon hotel.

A man and a woman were found dead from gunshot wounds this afternoon inside a room at a Macon hotel.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting incident at the OYO Hotel located at 4952 Romeiser Drive.

The male was identified as 43-year-old Michael Ray Reid Jr., from Merced, California. The female was identified as 44-year-old Tammy Sherrell Calhoun, from Macon. According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been notified.

Both Reid and Calhoun were taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab, so that an autopsy could be conducted. This investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
