A broken water main on Emerald Drive has been fixed and water is back on in South Monroe County, but residents in several neighborhoods must boil their water until at least Tuesday.

What It Means For You: If you live on Bolingview Road, Emerald Drive, Amethest Road, Lancaster Court, Lovett’s Ridge Drive, Pate Road, or New Forsyth Road, you need to boil your water before drinking, cooking, or brushing your teeth for the next several days.

What’s Happening: Monroe County fixed the water main break and turned the water back on. The county issued the boil water order as a safety measure.

What You Need to Know: The advisory will stay in place until at least October 21. County officials will announce when it’s safe to use water normally again.

The Sources: Monroe County.
