A man and woman were found shot to death Wednesday morning in a Lawrenceville bedroom, in what Gwinnett County Police believe was a domestic incident between two people who knew each other.
What Happened: Officers arrived at a home on Clearwater Place just before 10 a.m. after receiving a call about a shooting. Both victims were already dead when police entered the bedroom. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Where It Stands: Detectives are not searching for any suspects. The exact relationship between the man and woman is still under investigation, though police say the shooting appears domestic in nature. Homicide investigators are interviewing witnesses while crime scene technicians process evidence.
What’s Next: The medical examiner will determine the official cause of death. Names of the deceased will be released once family members have been notified.
🗂️ Domestic Violence Stats: A study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that between 2003 and 2014, about 55% of all female homicides in the U.S. were related to intimate partner violence.
