A Sunday morning argument between coworkers at a Kennesaw restaurant turned into a shooting when one employee called her husband to the scene.
📍 What Happened: Officers arrived at Martin’s Restaurant on Cobb Parkway within one minute of the 8:41 a.m. call on October 5.
Two employees had been arguing inside the restaurant. One of them called her husband, 46-year-old Jeffrey Alan Thomas of Kennesaw, who drove to the location and confronted the other employee. During a physical fight, Thomas fired multiple rounds inside the building before leaving with his wife.
Cobb County Police helped track down Thomas and his wife at their home. During questioning, investigators learned Thomas’s wife had been hit by a bullet. She refused medical treatment and was released. Thomas and the other employee involved in the fight had minor injuries not caused by gunfire.
⚖️ The Charges: Thomas faces 12 criminal counts, including five counts of aggravated assault, five counts of possessing a firearm during a felony, one count of second-degree criminal damage to property, and one count of third-degree cruelty to children.
He’s being held at the Cobb County jail without bond.
🔍 Between the Lines: The cruelty to children charge was made because there was a child present in the restaurant at the time of the shooting. No one besides Thomas’s wife was shot, despite multiple rounds being fired in an occupied building.
