🚨 The Gist: A man and a woman were arrested in Gwinnett County and accused of conspiring to stage a robbery at a Norcross business, falsely reporting a crime involving a theft of $2,800.
🔍 The Details: On April 5, Esperanza Marisol Chacon, 50, of Norcross, reported to police that she was robbed at gunpoint while closing her business at 1461 Pirkle Road. She claimed that a man forced her back inside the business around 1 a.m. and stole money from the cash register.
Gwinnett County Police detectives, after reviewing surveillance footage and conducting interviews, identified and arrested 55-year-old David Cruz Galeano of Jonesboro on April 15.
According to police, further investigation revealed that Chacon and Galeano had collaborated to fabricate the entire incident.
