The man identified in police reports as taking the cell phone video of the Ahmaud Arbery shooting was arrested Thursday.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, 50-year-oild William “Roddie” Bryan Jr. was arrested on charges of Felony Murder and Criminal Attempt to Commit False Imprisonment. These charges stem from the February 23, incident that resulted in the death of Ahmaud Arbery.
Bryan will be booked into the Glynn County Jail.
This case is being investigated in partnership with District Attorney Joyette Holmes of the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office.
Earlier this week, the GBI conducted a search of the home of Gregory and Travis McMichael Tuesday evening.
The GBI arrested the McMichaels May 7 for the deadly shooting in that occurred in February. Both were charged with murder and aggravated assault.
On Feb. 23, Arbery was in the Satilla Shores neighborhood in Brunswick, when both Gregory and Travis McMichael confronted Arbery with two firearms. During the encounter, GBI officials say Travis McMichael shot and killed Arbery.
