Residents across north and central Georgia should prepare for potential flooding as scattered showers bring heavy rainfall through Monday evening.

🌧️ Why It Matters: Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts up to 5 inches could trigger flash flooding in vulnerable areas, particularly in central Georgia where persistent rainfall is expected to continue through much of the week.

🚨 Current Alerts: The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flood Watch through Monday evening for all of north and central Georgia, including metro Atlanta counties.

🔍 Between the Lines: While thunderstorms are possible across portions of central Georgia, forecasters aren’t expecting severe storms to develop. The primary threat remains flooding from persistent rainfall over saturated ground.

⏱️ Looking Ahead: The wet pattern continues with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms expected through most of the week, especially during afternoon and evening hours. This persistent rainfall could worsen flooding concerns in already saturated areas.
