Late March showers bring April cold snaps — at least this year. A cold front has moved into north and Central Georgia and has prompted the City of Atlanta to open a warming center during the morning hours Thursday.
The City of Atlanta announced the opening of an emergency warming center in anticipation of frigid temperatures. The center will open Thursday, April 1 at 5 a.m. and will remain open through 10 a.m.
Temperatures are expected to drop to drop below 40 degrees early Thursday morning.
The warming center is located at the former Ramada Hotel at 450 Capitol Avenue S.E.
