Ball Ground Highway was unexpectedly closed last night following damage to power lines and a utility pole near York Drive and Green Drive. The closure caused delays and rerouted traffic in the area.
What Happened: The damage prompted crews to shut down the highway to ensure public safety while repairs were underway.
Sheriff’s officials say the disruption was caused when a driver struck a utility pole bringing power lines down.
Current Situation: As of this morning, the highway is reopened.
