The Gist: A tragic collision at a Forsyth County intersection claimed the life of a young motorcyclist when sheriff’s officials say the driver of an SUV failed to observe a stop sign.

The Details: The crash occurred on February 15 around 2:40 pm at the crossroads of Bethelview Road and Olde Town Lane.

Peyton Kirby, a 23-year-old from Cumming, was riding his motorcycle southbound when a northbound 2022 Hyundai Genesis SUV crossed into his path without stopping at the intersection’s stop sign, resulting in a fatal crash. Kirby was pronounced dead at the scene.
