SAVANNAH — The Savannah Police Department is investigating a pedestrian-involved crash on Bay Street that occurred Saturday morning.
Police say a 64-year-old woman was driving a Toyota Corolla East on Bay Street approaching Montgomery Street at about 5 a.m. At that time, a 29-year-old man attempted to cross Bay Street near its intersection with Montgomery Street.
According to police, the driver did not see the pedestrian due to his dark clothing. She attempted to steer away from him but could not avoid the collision.
The man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Traffic Investigation Unit continues to investigate this crash.
