A routine drive turned deadly Saturday evening when a pickup truck veered off Matt Highway, claiming three lives.
What’s happening: A 2014 Ram 5500 traveling eastbound on Matt Highway failed to navigate a left-hand curve near Rose Creek Drive around 5:28 p.m. on September 27, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. The truck left the roadway before striking a tree and fence.
The driver, 36-year-old Jose Alvarado Macario, and two rear passengers—24-year-old Abraham Vargas Vargas and 18-year-old Alberto Rios-Pintoja—were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities report. The front passenger survived with injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
