A five-vehicle crash brought traffic to a standstill on I-475 northbound near the rest stop in Bibb County on Thursday afternoon. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash happened around 4:50 p.m. and involved four commercial vehicles and one passenger vehicle.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office has issued an urgent travel advisory as snow and ice have created dangerous road conditions. I-75, both northbound and southbound, along with I-475, are currently unsafe for travel. The Georgia Department of Transportation is working to clear and reopen the roads, but officials cannot estimate when conditions will improve.

MACON -- Tragedy struck the aftermath of the single-vehicle collision that occurred on I-475 north, near mile marker 7, involving a motorcycle. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the passenger, Stephanie Burnside, of Alabama, has died from her injuries.
