Since April, the state department of public safety has been working to curb crime in Atlanta. Part of this operation has involved several police agencies being out in full force on weekends. Last weekend, the Georgia Department of Public Safety coordinated the 21st wave of its multi-agency crime suppression detail in Atlanta. The report, which was released Tuesday, ranked Atlanta the 10th-best retirement city among 180 U.S. cities across the country. ATLANTA -- Police in Atlanta are asking for your help finding a dog who was stolen at gunpoint in the early morning hours of Aug. 29. Police say the victim was robbed by an acquaintance. During the robbery, the suspect took some personal valuables and a pet dog named Buddy. The Buckhead Diner -- a staple of Atlanta for more than 30 years -- has closed its doors for good. The restaurant was closed due to COVID-19, but the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group announced last week that the iconic diner will not be reopening. Three brothers arrested in Atlanta sidewalk shooting

ATLANTA -- Police in Atlanta have made three arrests made in the Aug. 23 homicide of a man near Perry Blvd. Officers responded to the address on a report of a person shot at about 11:35 p.m. Once on scene, officers found an adult male lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital where he later died of his wounds. Cascade Road in Atlanta will get $20.9 million in upgrades

ATLANTA -- Cascade Road will be getting some upgrades to the tune of $20.9 million. The upgrades include streetscapes, bus stop enhancements, extended bike lanes, and some changes designed to improve pedestrian safety. The project was approved by the Atlanta City Council Monday.
