ALPHARETTA — A man who began his career as an Alpharetta police officer, may be returning to the city as its new City Administrator.
The City of Alpharetta announced today that Chris Lagerbloom is the sole finalist for the City Administrator position.
Lagerbloom currently serves as City Manager of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but is no stranger to North Fulton. Prior to moving to Fort Lauderdale, Lagerbloom served as Milton’s City Manager from 2009 to 2016.
Under Lagerbloom’s leadership, Milton captured several accolades including being named the city with the “Best Quality of Life” in Georgia, one of America’s 100 Safest Cities, a Certified Green Community and a Certified City of Ethics.
Lagerbloom also developed an innovative service delivery model that focuses on hybrid public-private partnerships that enabled Milton to increase services and generate millions of dollars in savings.
If approved by the City Council, Lagerbloom will replace current City Administrator Bob Regus, who has served in the post since 1999. Final vote on Lagerbloom’s appointment is expected sometime after May 30.
