If you live in Barrow County, you will soon see more hustle and bustle than usual on the front lawn of the county’s historic courthouse.
Film crews will be arriving March 6 through 8 to start setting up for the HBO series ‘The Outsider’ to be filmed in Georgia next week.
The courthouse name will temporarily be changed to the Cherokee County Courthouse.
As with most filming projects, this means there will be road closures. Those are scheduled for March 11 through 13 while filming is taking place. The map above shows those closures.

Access to the courthouse will still be available. If you need to go to the tax assessor or tax commissioner’s offices you will need to access those offices through the parking lot off of Woodlawn.
If you need to go to planning, finance, or the Board of Commissioners you can still access the parking lot behind the courthouse – you will just need to tell the police officer at the barricade that you have business at the courthouse.
Unlike many film sets, the film crews for this project have encouraged spectators to watch the filming downtown as long as it does not interfere with what they are trying to shoot.
