The Gist: An armed man is dead after a standoff and exchange of gunfire with SWAT at Roswell RaceTrac.
What Happened?: On Tuesday night, an adult male brandishing a handgun was spotted at the RaceTrac at 420 E. Crossville Rd., leading to an almost two-hour standoff. Police identified the man as Raheem Freeman, age 28, of Atlanta
According to police, the man did not cooperate despite the evacuation of the premises and extended negotiations. SWAT attempts with non-lethal methods failed.
Police say when the SWAT team advanced, the man shot, which prompted them to return fire, fatally wounding him.
