A 24-year-old man from Byron has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at the Green Meadows apartments on Log Cabin Drive.

A 24-year-old man from Byron has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at the Green Meadows apartments on Log Cabin Drive.

Investigators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Gang Unit and U.S. Marshals, apprehended James Louis Chappell in Warner Robins. He is charged with murder in the death of 26-year-old Keshon Knolton.

Just the Facts:

• The shooting occurred on Dec. 8 at 1:51 a.m. at Green Meadows apartments, located in the 3800 block of Log Cabin Drive.

• Knolton was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound and later died at a hospital.

• A second victim, a 17-year-old boy, was also injured but has since been released from the hospital.

• Chappell was arrested in the 100 block of Arizona Avenue and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

• The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
