Police investigate fatal shooting in Peachtree Corners

PEACHTREE CORNERS -- The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place at the front entrance of a local apartment complex.  

PEACHTREE CORNERS — The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place at the front entrance of a local apartment complex.  

Officers were dispatched to a “person shot” call at 1700 Hunters Ridge Lane in Peachtree Corners at 11:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a black male laying on the ground with at least one gunshot wound. 

The man was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

A nearby resident reported that his home was penetrated by one of the gunshots. No one inside this apartment was injured. 

The suspect in this case is unknown. The name of the victim is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

Police are asking residents in this apartment complex to report any suspicious activity on any personally owned surveillance cameras.
