LAWRENCEVILLE — Police have identified both the victim and the suspect in a fatal stabbing that occurred in Gwinnett County Saturday.
Shortly before midnight, officers were dispatched to a “domestic” at a home on Planters Cove Circle in unincorporated Lawrenceville. When officers arrived, they found a man in his mid-30s suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds. Officers rendered aid until the Gwinnett County Fire Department arrived on scene, but the man died as a result of his injuries.
Police department officials said at the time of the initial report that the incident involved a woman who was at the scene. She was placed in custody and transported to Gwinnett County Police Headquarters.
The victim in this case has been identified as 34-year-old Ricky Bryant, of Lawrenceville. Nathalie Stewart, a 43-year-old Lawrenceville resident, has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Knife during commission of a Felony and Felony Murder.
There were three children inside the home at the time of the incident. Two of the children are teens, and one child is an infant. None of the children were injured. It’s unknown if the teens witnessed the incident. The infant is currently in the custody of family members.
