Gwinnett County fire investigators are trying to determine who is responsible for setting a 2003 Nissan Altima on fire in front of a mobile home during the early morning hours of Nov. 10.

Fire Department officials say the car was parked on the street overnight and was unattended. The incident occurred on Howe Lane in unincorporated Loganville. A neighbor was able to smother the flames before the fire truck arrived around 4:30 a.m.

According to investigators, the family is not aware of anyone who would want to damage their property and there is currently no motive or suspect in the case. The blaze caused heavy damage to the Altima. Radiant heat from the fire caused minor cosmetic damage to a second vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact the Gwinnett Fire Investigations Section at 678.518.4890 or the Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1.800.282.5804. Georgia Arson Control, Inc. offers a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for arson.
