Good Afternoon,

We want to take a moment to inform you about an incident that occurred last night at West Village Dining Hall in an area only accessible to staff. Many of you likely received a GTENS notification about this late last night.

Two individuals affiliated with a third-party staffing agency were involved in an altercation that was quickly addressed by the Georgia Tech Police Department. Thankfully, no Georgia Tech students or Tech Dining employees were injured or harmed.

We understand that dining spaces are more than just places to eat, they’re part of your daily routine, places to connect, unwind with friends, and feel at ease. An incident like this can understandably cause concern, and we want you to know that your sense of safety and well-being is deeply important to us.

Our leadership team was on-site immediately following the event to support our students and staff and assist law enforcement. We are actively reviewing what happened and evaluating our partnership with the staffing agency for whom these employees worked to ensure that everyone working in our dining halls aligns with Georgia Tech’s safety and conduct standards.

Please rest assured that we are fully committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all members of our campus community. If you have questions, concerns, or just want to share your thoughts, we encourage you to reach out directly to Tech Dining,  we’re here to listen.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.
