Cobb County Police officers responded to reports of a fight in progress at the Waffle House on Sandy Plains Road.

According to witnesses, a group of teenagers had been asked to leave the restaurant several times but refused. The situation escalated when the teens began arguing with staff, knocking plates from the counter, and jumping over the service area into the kitchen.

One victim was placed in a headlock and struck multiple times in the head. Several patrons attempted to intervene.

A video of the altercation, which has circulated on social media, alleges the group had attended Sprayberry High School’s homecoming game. However, this incident occurred early Sunday morning, September 7th , while the game took place Friday night, September 5th.

At this time, no direct connection that these suspects are current, or former Sprayberry High School students has been confirmed.

The investigation remains active. Detectives are working to identify all individuals involved. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Cobb County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit at (770) 499-4184.
