Is Your Water Out in Temple? Here’s Why: The City of Temple is installing new water lines today, which may cause water outages or low pressure in areas from Sage Street at Montgomery Street to Webster Lake Subdivision. Work is scheduled to begin around 11:30 a.m. and is expected to last 2-4 hours. Crews are working to complete the project as quickly as possible. Residents are advised to plan accordingly.
Literally “around” Georgia: The entire McColl police force in South Carolina has resigned, citing a hostile work environment and budget cuts by the town council. Police Chief Bob Hale announced his resignation Thursday, just over a year into his tenure, with former investigator Courtney Bulusan echoing his concerns about poor working conditions and lack of resources like functional vehicles.
With no local police, residents now rely on the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office, located 10-15 minutes away, for emergency response. Mayor George Garner, while declining to comment on the officers’ claims, said the sheriff’s office will cover the town temporarily and urged residents to “be on their best behavior” during the holidays.

Damn Good Dog: The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office bid farewell to K-9 Krush, a black Labrador retriever with over eight years of service, during a retirement ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at the Advanced Operation Center.
Trained in narcotics detection, Krush was instrumental in the seizure of approximately $4.5 million in drugs, cash, and assets, including a career highlight of intercepting 17 kilograms of heroin in a single bust.
The ceremony’s most touching moment came when Krush was reunited with retired Sgt. Kite after eight months apart. Now under Sgt. Kite’s care, Krush will enjoy a well-earned retirement filled with lake swims, fetch, and relaxation.
Yep, Cobb County Government Offices Won’t Be Open on Thanksgiving: Cobb County Government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28-29, for Thanksgiving. Officials hope you enjoy the holiday, but let’s be honest—nobody was planning a trip to a government building during their Thanksgiving break. For those who still need county services, many are available online at cobbcounty.org. Enjoy the turkey instead of the paperwork.
