The shooter, whom police identified as the deceased’s mother, has been taken into custody and is currently being questioned by detectives.

What Happened?: On July 11, at about 8:45 p.m., authorities received a report of a person shot at a residence on Spanish Moss Court in Lawrenceville.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a woman, later identified as Treva Murray, who had succumbed to a gunshot wound. Her mother of the deceased, remained at the scene until police arrived.

According to witnesses, an altercation occurred between Murray and her mother, leading to the shooting. Witnesses told police Murray attacked her mother, which resulted in Murray getting shot.

The exact circumstances that precipitated the altercation are still under investigation. Currently, no charges have been filed in connection with the incident, and the case remains active pending the completion of the autopsy.
