Hurricane Ian is now Tropical Storm Ian and is expected to begin making its way up the East coast of Florida, and track up the coasts of Georgia and South Carolina today and tomorrow.
Tropical Storm Ian will move into the Atlantic where it is then anticipated track north towards the South Carolina coast.
The main threats for north and central Georgia will be gusty winds and heavy rain through late Saturday.
With high pressure to the north and Ian in the area’s proximity, strong gradient winds are expected.
A wind advisory will go into effect this morning until 8 p.m. where sustained winds at 20 to 25 mph could gust up to 35 mph. Please use caution and secure objects outdoors.
