Georgia Department of Transportation contractors have postponed lane closures on I-285 to continue a resurfacing project on 1.5 miles between Snapfinger Road and Rainbow Drive in DeKalb County due to rain.
This resurfacing project is expected to produce a smoother ride for drivers while also improving the condition of the deteriorating roadway.
Two left lanes were set to be closed on I-285 northbound and southbound between Flat Shoals Road and Snapfinger Road on Saturday, before the decision to postpone was made.
The $3.8 M project is scheduled for completion in fall 2022.
