A Henry County police officer who was assaulted by a suspect last week has died from his injuries.

A Henry County police officer who was assaulted by a suspect last week has died from his injuries.

The Henry County Police Dept. confirmed officer Paramhans Desai succumbed to his injuries with his family by his side yesterday at about 9:55 p.m.

Desai is survived by his wife and two young children. Desai continues to serve, even in his passing, by donating multiple organs.

Funeral arrangements will be released at a later date.

Henry County police say 22-year-old Jordan Jackson assaulted Desai and fled the scene in a 2016 Honda Civic white in color bearing the Georgia license plate RXF0384.

Police describe Jackson as a Black Male, 5’8”, and weighing about 165 pounds.

Henry County police later said Jackson may be traveling in a white 2021 Dodge Ram, which they reportedly were able to locate.

The Henry County Police Department says it has received numerous requests to offer donations to the family of Officer Desai.

Donations can be made through the “Ralph Easterwood Angel Wings for Warriors Benevolence Fund”. The Ralph Easterwood Angel Wings for Warriors Benevolence Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organized for the sole purpose of helping the families of sworn, non-sworn and civilian employees, of all first responders.
