HAPEVILLE -- Hapeville Police officer Brandon Hickman was conducting a routine traffic stop on I-85 North Tuesday when a motorist driving a Lexus lost control of their vehicle and slammed into Hickman's patrol car.

HAPEVILLE — Hapeville Police officer Brandon Hickman was conducting a routine traffic stop on I-85 North Tuesday when a motorist driving a Lexus lost control of their vehicle and slammed into Hickman’s patrol car.

The officer sustained injuries and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

In the photo shared by the Hapeville Police Department, the extensive damage to Hickman’s patrol car can be clearly seen and the Lexus can be seen in the background flipped over on its top.

The department says Hickman is now recovering and resting.

“We as a Department are grateful for all the prayers, calls and text messages,” the department wrote on its Facebook page.
