As of noon April 6, Fulton County has surpassed the 1,000 cases mark for coronavirus cases. Fulton has 1,027 confirmed cases, making Georgia’s largest county the first county in Georgia to hit 1,000 cases. In Fulton, 28 people have died from the virus.

Dougherty County has 716 confirmed cases and 31 people there have died from the virus.

DeKalb and Cobb County each have more than 500 cases, DeKalb with 579 and Cobb with 515.

Statewide, the total number of cases is 7,314, with 1,332 people hospitalized and 229 people dead from coronavirus.

In terms of age, the majority of cases — 60% — have been found in 18 to 59 year olds, while 35% of those who have tested positive have been over age 60.

In Georgia, 31,274 people have been tested for COVID-19. The state announced today that a new rapid test drive-thru was being set up at Georgia Tech.
