The Gist: A woman was shot during a road rage incident on Stone Mountain Highway in Gwinnett county while trying to evade a suspect’s vehicle.

What Happened?: Gwinnett Police Detectives are investigating a road rage incident that injured a woman driving on Stone Mountain Highway on June 1 at about 9:30 pm. The victim suffered an injury to her foot while her vehicle was riddled with bullet holes, with several shell casings found at the scene by officers.

The woman told police that a dark, possibly green passenger car followed her and flashed its headlights as if to overtake her. When she tried to evade the vehicle near Exit 9, it cut her off and fired multiple shots at her car into the passenger side.

Even as she tried to escape, the suspect’s car came in front of hers and fired once again into the driver’s side.
