MACON — Search efforts resumed Saturday morning for a missing swimmer at Amerson River Park on the Ocmulgee River in Macon, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

DNR Game Wardens and the Aviation Unit, along with Macon/Bibb Fire Divers and other assisting agencies, are working to identify and clear areas of interest in the river in an attempt to bring the search to a conclusion.

The swimmer, a 22-year-old man, went missing on Wednesday afternoon, prompting an immediate search effort.

Amerson River Park, located in Macon, is a popular spot for outdoor enthusiasts and offers a variety of recreational activities, including fishing, kayaking, and hiking.
