WOODSTOCK — If you want to know more about the history of Woodstock, or just need a reason to go downtown, The Downtown Tour Series offers free guided walking tours exploring various aspects of the area. On the last Thursday of the month from March to September, themed guided tours will be offered.
Each month’s tour covers a different topic. Tours will allow you to learn about the history of the area, learn about downtown Woodstock’s plentiful public art, hear about weird and unusual downtown facts, and explore the planning that has gone into making downtown Woodstock one of the top downtowns in Georgia.
The next tour will take place April 29 and will explore the history of Woodstock. This is a great tour for anyone who is interested in learning more about the history of Woodstock.
For the rest of the series, the tour topic for each month will be announced two weeks before the tour date on the Facebook and the Instagram pages for Downtown Woodstock.
The tours are free to attend but do require an RSVP due to limited space. Individuals can RSVP online for a tour once the tour topic is announced on the Downtown Woodstock Facebook and Instagram pages.
Tours will be offered at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. Tours will last 30 to 45 minutes. For more information, call the Woodstock Visitors Center at 770-924-0406.
